The Date: February 2016

The Place: Forde Abbey House and Gardens followed by a reception at The Lord Poulett Arms, Hinton St George, Somerset.

The Photography: Joanna Brown photography

It started with an email...

Rebecca contacted us early in 2015 via email with a simple request to dress the magnificent Great Hall at Forde Abbey and The Lord Poulett Arms for her wedding, the following February. She had contacted us in hope that we could turn her wedding Pinterest board into reality with flowers and foliages that were in season. Too right we could!!

The board beamed with rustic and wintery charm- think brass candlesticks, beeswax candles, old fashioned Roses, Ferns and warm creamy golds! Mmmm.

Wouldn't you agree- they chose the perfect photographer for their wedding?

Rebecca and Ash wanted something very casual, wanting to keep the styling very suited to the dark and historic 16th and 17th century ambience of both venues however had the vision to add a bit of glamour too.

We finally met a month before the date, concreting ideas and logistics and putting together a few visuals in the shop. It certainly brightened up a dreary winters day in Ilminster meeting them at last.

Rebecca and Ash in one of the fabulous greenhouses in the grounds of Forde Abbey Gardens- great shot!

We created beautiful wrist corsages to compliment the bridal bouquet and to suit the bridesmaids elegant dresses using David Austin Roses, fragrant Jasmine and Rosemary, ferns and other winter foliages. (Even complimenting the sandstone here in the Orangery!)

Before shots taken by us of the Frothy Ferns that dressed the 16th Century Great Hall at Forde Abbey.

The after shot! A super stunning photo!

Had lot's of fun making this mossy, ferny garland to drape across the front  of the table. With the couples brass candlesticks situated in amongst the ferns- they look like they belong with the room.

Simple clusters of flowering foliage, Waxflower and fern for the groomsmen- Ash with a delicate blush Ranunculus added.

Thank you Joanna and to Rebecca and Ash for your fab photos x
