The Date: August Bank Holiday 2013
The Place: Ilton Church, Marquee at Angie’s, Ilton Somerset
The Wedding of the year (in Ange’s eyes!) –her beautiful niece Lucy chose to travel down from London to wed in Ilton Somerset near to where she grew up. The marquee, bunting and straw bales went up in Angie’s paddock and despite the bank holiday dark clouds, a gorgeous time was had by all!
Silk can be beautiful! The lovely circlets carefully packaged in tissue for Lucy’s flowergirls.
Lucys hand tied bouquet was a soft blousy mix of David Austin ‘Sweet Juliet’ Roses, Ammi, fragrant cream Stocks, brown sedum flowers and a ‘whisper’ of Gypsophila. We added a beautiful pearly brooch into the top of the bouquet too and the bouquet was tied with lace to compliment the dress.
We love Lucys idea of putting each bridesmaid in a different shade of pink, coral and apricot so to compliment; these fab ‘Miss Piggy’ Roses were used with a little collar of grey Senecio foliage to add a softer vintage feel.
In the church, the colours were continued with two large displays at the altar. Iltons little church has two wonderful stone walls in the centre of church which we dressed simply with Jasmine trails, Gypsophila and Ammi (like cow Parsley)!
To Angie’s paddock and inside the marquee! We were so pleased with the colourful entrance to Lucys marquee, the bunting continued right across the front and looked great with the home made planted wooden troughs and the lightbulb fairy light walk way!
Although only a little ‘cheese’ cake, I love how the Roses look huge against it and tumble down with the grapes! So simple.
And just to finish, here is brother-in-law sporting bridesmaids bouquet, buttonhole and shades. Cool.
I have the blog bug so will be back again soon!
